Scott Barnard

Scott A. Barnard is currently a doctoral candidate in the Department of Classics at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He received his B.A. in English and M.A. in Classics at the University of New Mexico, where he completed a master's thesis on the language of Homeric heroes in Ancient Greek tragedy. Scott's current
dissertation project, entitled "Actors and Conspirators: Civic Anxiety in Late Attic Tragedy," focuses upon the late dramas of Sophocles and Euripides, and upon the tumultuous civic and political context in which they were produced. His research interests include Greek drama, Homeric Epic, Archaic Greek poetry, and Classical receptions on film.
