Alicia Matz

Alicia Matz earned her B.A. in Classics in 2015 from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. As a Coolidge Otis Chapman Honors Scholar, her senior thesis, titled “dum conderet urbem: Poetic Portraits of Aeneas as Political Commentary on Augustus,” was on the intertexuality between Ovid and Vergil in the character of Aeneas. Her research interests include Augustan literature and material culture, Aristophanic comedy, and reception, especially in science fiction and fantasy literature.
