Areas of special
interest to Fortenbaugh are Peripatetic philosophy, New Comedy
and ancient rhetoric. For the most part his recent publications
have concerned Theophrastus, Aristotle's pupil and head of the Peripatos, but there are articles on other Peripatetics of the
Hellenistic period, on the rhetorical theory of Aristotle and
Cicero, and on Peripatetic theories of laughter. Click here to
see a list of Publications.
Professor Fortenbaugh is the founder and director of Project
Theophrastus and the editor of the series Rutgers
University Studies in Classical Humanities.
